bad day update

So after sending out an adorable e-mail:

Hello everyone,
I am e-mailing from my new office also known as the caribou near my house. My car is not functioning today and I will not get it back until tomorrow. Would anyone be able to pick XXX at her job at 7:00 tonight? I will get you a gift card from my new office for your troubles. I have no way of getting there, so please? With espresso on top?

I did finally get an offer for someone to help out, so that was good. I walked everywhere I had to go yesterday and even today when my car was being fixed I walked and did some errands. I live close to lots of places that I drive to and it made me realize that I should try and walk places more often. It does take longer, but when I live two blocks away from a grocery store why should I drive when I need something little for supper? I could just as easily walk, which is better for me and my car. However, winter is another story and when it's cold I don't care how close the store is. However, for summer I am going to try and walk more places...I use to do it all the time in my home town and things were farther away.

My bad day

So, I have had a crappy go of it since yesterday. Lots of work stuff that is SO frustrating. I was ready to quit yesterday, but I figured that paying rent was more important. I just HATE that I put so much effort into making people successful, well beyond my job description, and I can never get anyone to help me out when I need it. I am not superwoman and can't always do everything...I need some help, and no one is willing to.
Then I went to the Twins game (we won, so that was my positive) I have never seen any group get up so much in my life. I missed half of the game due to the standing and sitting of the section I was in. However, I was with my mom and sis, so that was the best part of my yesterday.
Then, as I am leaving the parking ramp the nice car behind me starts motioning like crazy - wondering what the hell they want I stick my head out the window to hear them announce "you have a flat tire". GREAT! Like I know what to do about that? And I am downtown Minneapolis. Luckily my fam had not gone far and with them they had a hero named Joe that knows how to put on a spare tire. Luckily the saturn came equip with everything I needed and we were able to change the tire and I could get home. However, now today I need to attempt to take care of this situation, and I have no clue where the hell to go for a flat tire or how long it will take and how much it will cost. Luckily I have my co-workers that refuse to get off their asses and now they will have to help me. I sent out an adorable e-mail asking for help in picking up a consumer from work today, and I have yet to receive a response...I love my job

CRAZY WEEKEND!

I started out this weekend with some happy (although not so happy due to the full price) hour drinks with my roomie Noelle and then we went to get oh so relaxing pedi's. I've decided that a fantastic pedi and a massage chair is the greatest way to kick off a weekend!
My normal weekend night out consists of Allie and I sitting at the bar casually drinking our Michgolden's and possibly being entertained by some piano players. We love it when others come join us and this weekend we had some surprising guests. Tim, Bo, Uutes and his friend Mike all came out to the bar and it was a ton of fun and extremely entertaining! We had a blast being slightly drunk and silly. These boys are all funny and entertaining which made for a fantastic friday night!
On saturday I worked at my favorite museum and then headed off to the Twins game (number 17 for those counting). We met up with a co-worker and his wife and their friend and then Tim and Bo came and joined us. We had a blast cheering the Twins on to a 14-2 victory. We then celebrated the win with a drink at Hubert's where Allie and I got free shots from a drunk man from fergus falls. Afterwards Allie and decided to check out highland fest (via the bar) and there we ran into some INTERESTING characters. We first met Sue (real name unknown) and Tom who were extremely drunk and dancing. Sue was slurring like no tomorrow and according to her she was 49. She was trying to dance with any available man. I loved watching the good sports that would go out there and dance with her, and I mocked the ones that gave her dirty looks. Then we meet a guy named Brent aka red bandanna boy. We coaxed him into asking Sue to dance in which she denied (that's right, the girl dancing with anyone said no). Allie being a good sport went out and danced with both of them while I babysat the beer. There was so much more to the night, but I'm sure the details are unneeded. However, Highland fest was fun and full of interesting characters. I love my hood! Where else would you get such as array of college students, rich folks and eccentrics. I just wish I would have taken pictures to show off.

Also those who read my blog (aka Noelle) might have noticed that I pimped it via pyzam.com They have fun layouts and they have a ton of stuff, but it does take a while to get through all of it. The big downfall is that if you have anything on the side (such as blog lists or vices) they get erased.

The last 5 months

Ok, so I am not doing a great job at keeping my blog current...I'll try better.

Updates:
I went to Spring Training! I love the Twins and spring training is definitely the best place for a fan. You get to see the players up close and it is just a fantastic setting. Plus you are in Florida during winter which doesn't hurt either.
Here is Allie and I at Hammond Stadium in Ft. Myers watching our first spring training game:

I wasn't lying about seeing them up close:

The season is now underway and I have been busy watching as many games as possible. I am trying to hit one game from every home series and so far I have made it. That makes it 16 games so far this season and we are only half way over.

I have also been extremely busy with work. Now, I am far from loving my job, however, I am starting to enjoy parts of it. I am making an effort to concentrate on the parts I like and deal with and move on from the parts that make me want to pull out my hair. I am currently far to lazy to look for a new job in an economy that isn't stable and don't feel like putting in the effort to learn how to do a new job. So, for now I will stay where I am.

I got to meet my favorite author. She is Jen Lancaster and if you are a girl and have not read a book by her I suggest you pick one up immediately! Her books are memoirs and she is one of the funniest people I have ever met. I suggest starting with Bitter is the New Black.

I am horrible when meeting a "celebrity" that I love. I am not the type that screams and goes crazy, I am the type that is silent and slightly mumbles. I wish I could be the type to talk and tell them how fantastic they are and how much I like their work, however, I never seem to be able to. Jen (cause were close now) complemented me on my shirt and I mustered a thank you. I did ask for a picture and afterwards I mumbled that she smelt good. She liked the compliment on her good smelling nature, but I was ashamed that I could not muster an "i love your work" or "you are fantastic" and especially not "you are my hero and I want to be you". But I still got a compliment (probably cause I was awkward and silent) and a picture.

Back to baseball (I admit I'm a tom boy). Speaking of "celebrities" I got to have lunch with Boof Bonser who is a relief pitcher for the Minnesota Twins. As stated above I am not that great with the whole talking thing, however given a half an hour I do get the ability to speak semi-normally. Although my hand was shaking the whole time I was able to muster out some questions and act as normal as is possible for me in that situation. I must say Boof is awesome. He is so nice and really easy to talk to. He answered any question that anyone at the table had and really was so nice. He made jokes and although it was obvious I was nervous and shaking I really think he was trying to make me feel more at ease.

Here is Boof and I at lunch:

However, my dad and I are starting to wonder if we are cursed. We had lunch with Boof at the welcome home lunch in. At that time he was a starting pitcher and after a few bad starts he got sent to the bullpen to be a relief pitcher. He is not having a great season, but I have faith that he will get better. Last season we had lunch with Sidney Ponson. Who? Oh yeah that starting pitcher that got cut after a few starts because he was horrible and then didn't play anywhere the rest of the season. He is back now and after a tiny stint with the Rangers? he got cut, not for playing badly, but for a bad attitude and bring down the club moral. He did get picked up by the Yankees? and is doing well. However, that's 2 years in a row (the only 2 years we have gone to the welcome home lunch-in) in which the player we had lunch with had a not so fabulous season. I'm sorry Boof, but I know you can do it! Please play well so that I am allowed to go to the lunch-in next year. My dad and I have already decided that if we go and we are sitting with Mauer, Morneau or Nathan we are leaving.
